The iLoud Micro Monitor, available in a choice of black or white, are ultra-compact reference speakers able to generate a linear frequency response with no coloration in every listening environment, ideal for home and project studios. Its self-calibration is derived from IK's ARC System, with an included reference microphone, and its tilting isolation mount adjusts from 0° to 20° for correct positioning in a wide range of setups. The symmetrical MTM design (two 3.5" high-performance woofers and 1" high definition tweeter) provides precise, point-source sound to minimize ear fatigue. The iLoud MTM compact monitors take advantage of its 100W RMS power and ultra-flat 40 Hz to 24 kHz frequency response with truly linear phase response. Offering several flexible user options, the suite is available as a resizable plug-in for all popular DAWs, or inside the T-RackS shell when being used for stand-alone mastering work. VU/PPM meters provide a classic "needle style" visual, while similarly styled Mid-Side meters enable comparisons between mono and stereo content. A timesaving Spectrogram detects frequency imbalances and phase issues before masters are finalized. Peak, RMS and Dynamic Range meters offer feedback about the dynamic response of mixes. The precision LUFS meter offers information about the loudness of an audio piece based on its final delivery method, from digital music, to broadcast, and everything in between.

The Transport Modeling function is designed to accurately reproduce the small inaccuracies of the tape position in front of the head for life-like performance, while True Stereo operation provides a recreation of the stereo image effect produced by subtle differences that inevitably exist between the left and right channels on an analog machine. The Metering Suite provides complete visual feedback about audio creations to help users achieve professional results. A physically modeled alignment section lets users go beyond the regular audio alignment of the machines to experiment with the effect of different bias levels, recording levels to tape, and recording and playback EQs.Īdditionally, IK Multimedia’s modeling team has included two features from IK’s Tape Machine collection. Together with TASCAM, we have created a special set of tools that, I believe, have the ability to inject a new level of authenticity and vibrancy into a wide range of music and other recording efforts.”Įach TASCAM tape machine module offers common controls such as input and output levels, selectable input and reproduction audio paths, and a carefully chosen selection of recommended and classic tape formulations-each with its own unique sonic character. “Our new T-RackS TASCAM Tape Collection does just that-with the accuracy, warmth, and subtle idiosyncrasies that made analog so special to begin with. “Since the onset of digital recording, musicians and engineers have been wanting an easy, seamless way to introduce the unique tonal characteristics of analog sound into the contemporary DAW environment,” says Davide Barbi, IK Multimedia chief technolog officer. And for greater accuracy, TASCAM also provided information about the analog tape these systems were biased for. TASCAM selected the specific unit of each model, each fully rebuilt and carefully calibrated. The cassette-tape-based TASCAM PORTA ONE MINISTUDIO from 1984, which remains popular for creating “lo-fi” sounds, creative experiments and live performance.

The 388 is still noted for its warm and evocative sound. The TASCAM 388, released in 1985, combines an 8-channel mixing console and an 8-track tape machine in one. The TEAC A-3340S, released in the early ’70s, is the deck behind many famous song demos, and even whole albums made by some of the most influential rock bands ever. The TEAC A-6100 MKII, an upgraded version of the original mastering recorder first released in 1973 and still much sought-after today for adding tape warmth and color to recordings.

IK Multimedia has announced the T-RackS TASCAM Tape Collection, a new collection of AAX, VST and AU plugins for mixing and mastering that draws upon the strengths of four restored TASCAM analog recording systems recognized for their unique tone and other audible hallmarks.ĭeveloped with IK’s modeling technology and in direct collaboration with TASCAM, the result of this coordinated effort allows musicians to introduce the warmth and classic characteristics of some lauded analog recorders into today’s digital recordings.
